Our field of

Research

The brain is the most complex structure known, and to paraphrase our Nobel Prize winner D. Santiago Ramón y Cajal, only when we are able to describe the essential and fundamental biological principles underlying the structural and functional labyrinth of the brain will we understand the basis of thought and of the neuropsychiatric diseases that affect the brain.

Today, more than ever, we must promote and encourage the study of the nervous system, with neuroscience being the branch of knowledge that deals with it. The brain is the organ that generates our thoughts and behaviors and stores our memories. The brain is the main reason of what we are. Brain diseases are devastating and debilitating, not only for those who suffer from them, but unfortunately they also constitute such an immense economic and social burden that they are the number one healthcare challenge.

The study of the brain will lead to radical transformations in society, because it will help us understand ourselves and alleviate mental, neurological, and degenerative disorders, and eventually cure them, something that is currently not possible.

INCYL is made up of researchers and professionals from diverse fields of knowledge, including medicine, biology, pharmacy, physics, psychology, among others. Therefore, we can say that the Institute is a multidisciplinary center, which allows the development of interdisciplinary and high-quality research projects in the field of neuroscience.
