KTGs (Knowledge Transfer Groups)
Knowledge Transfer Groups (KTGs) are organized collaborative structures designed to connect knowledge generated in academic, scientific, or technical settings with its practical application in society, industry, and organizations. Their main purpose is to ensure that research outcomes, innovation, and best practices do not remain confined to the environments in which they are produced, but are transformed into concrete solutions, productive improvements, and evidence-based decision-making.
The importance of Knowledge Transfer Groups (KTGs) lies in their ability to act as a bridge between those who generate knowledge and those who can apply it. Through the systematic exchange of experiences, continuous training, and interdisciplinary collaboration, these groups foster innovation, reduce the gap between theory and practice, and strengthen the competitiveness of the sectors involved. They also contribute to social and economic development by promoting a more efficient circulation of knowledge, encouraging collective learning processes and adaptation to changing environments.
Universities are entrusted with three fundamental missions that must be pursued with equal commitment: teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. Each of these functions plays a crucial role in the overall mission of academic institutions, and universities must actively promote all three in order to fulfill their broader purpose and societal responsibility.
